Important Information About 2017-2018 Band Fees

We hope that you are as excited about the upcoming year as we are. The band is made up of so many great students, parents, alumni, and staff. As a parent, we hope that you take ownership in the program. The success of your child and the program relies heavily on parental contribution. We want you to enjoy the ride along with your child. These years will go quickly and we want you to enjoy this time with all of us. There are many ways that you can support the band. This support can be through volunteering on Friday night, donating much needed items, or maybe just buying a t-shirt and cheer for RHS. Whatever it is, your child really does want to see you there.

Posted below is the band fee explanation and payment schedule for the upcoming year. There are many costs that are associated with band that are essential to the success of your student(s) in the program. These costs are covered by the combination of funds from the district, fundraisers by the Band Boosters (RABB), and band fees.

Personal Items

The band fees DO NOT include personal items. These items would include gloves, shoes, etc., which you will purchase separately. You will receive additional information soon regarding how to purchase these items for your child.

Food

The competition fee includes some food, but not all food, for competition days. Friday night meals are not covered by any fees. You may purchase food on Friday evenings from the RABB for $60, which includes 10 games

Trip Costs

We are very excited to attend the Broken Arrow Marching Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma. These costs cover the transportation of your child, and some of the food. All payments should be made to the Richland HS Band.  All students participating in the competition band are required to go on the trips, as these are major competitions.

Best way to pay for fees?

  1. Check – The best way to pay for the fees is by check. All checks are to be turned into Mr. Bird.
  2. Revtrack – You may also pay for your band fees through RevTrack. BISD and revtrack have partnered up to make payments of supplies and costs easier. You can do this through your charms account.
  3. Billpay – Some families pay with direct bill pay with their bank. Still make the checks out to Richland Band or RABB, but use the address of the school, care of RHS Band

Please review the explanation carefully and direct any questions that you may have regarding the fees and the costs of band to Mr. Bird at Jason.bird@birdvilleschools.net. There is financial assistance available for some of the fees. This assistance may be available upon request.

We do ask that families try to stay on the payment schedule  listed on the document. If you are unable to, please reach out to Mr. Bird to make arrangements for a new schedule.
