“Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There’s not some trick involved with it. It’s pure and it’s real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things.”

Help Needed for FAAC Clean Up

We have a home game this Thursday evening and we need your help cleaning the FAAC. With the FAAC clean up, we make $600 per game.  With about 15 people it will take about an hour. Just swing my the FAAC and help out before heading to the school to pick up your child.

What you need?

  • Gas powered leaf blower (if you own one). If you don’t own one, then that’s ok.
  • A positive attitude. We are helping these kids

If you can help , please contact Mr. Mathews at faacuumcrew@gmail.com

Revtrack

BISD has set up a way for all students and families to pay for costs by credit card. This is a convenient way for parents to pay for band fees without having to send a check or money to the school with their child.

This is all done through charms and revtrack, so please be sure to have your login to charms.

Below is a document that you can use to guide your way through the process.

NOTE: You will NOT use the fixed payment ledger, all of credit card payments are done through the miscellaneous  ledger. The document only shows how to do it through the fixed payment ledger. Instead of clicking “Pay Fixed Payments”, Click on “Make Misc. Payment.”

Remind 101

We are using a service called “Remind”. This service will allow us to remind students of pertinent information through a phone app and/or email. To follow the band directors, please text @rhsbnd to 81010 and follow the instructions. Note that there is not an “a” in bnd.

2017-2018 Band Fees

2016-2018 Band Fee Explanation

We hope that you are as excited about the upcoming year as we are. The band is made up of so many great students, parents, alumni, and staff. As a parent, we hope that you take ownership in the program. The success of your child and the program relies heavily on parental contribution. We want you to enjoy the ride along with your child. These years will go quickly and we want you to enjoy this time with your child along with all of us. There are many ways that you can support the band. This support can be through volunteering on Friday night, donating much-needed items, or maybe just buying a t-shirt and cheer for RHS. Whatever it is, your child really does want to see you there.
The link below will take you to the band fee explanation and payment schedule for the upcoming year. There are many costs that are associated with band that are essential to the success of your student(s) in the program. These costs are covered by the combination of funds from the district, fundraisers by the Band Boosters (RABB), and band fees.
Personal Items
The band fees DO NOT include personal items. These items would include gloves, shoes, etc., which you will purchase separately. You will receive additional information soon regarding how to purchase these items for your child.
Food
This year the booster program (RABB) will be handling most of the food for the competition band on competition days. The competition band fee will cover some of the food, but not all of the food. We will not know costs of feeding the child until we know the schedule of the competitions.
Trip Costs
We are very excited to attend the Broken Arrow Marching Contest in Broken Arrow, OK. All payments are to be made out to RHS Band. All students participating in the competition band are required to go on the trips, as these are major competitions.
Ways to pay for fees?
1. Check – The best way to pay for the fees is by check. All checks are to be turned into Mr. Bird.  Remember, All Checks need to be made out to RHS Band
2. Revtrack– You may also pay with revtrack. See above link
3. Billpay — Some families pay with direct bill pay with their bank. Still make the checks out to  Richland Band, but use the address of the school, care of RHS Band
 * * Do Not pay with cash, please pay with a money order, check, or Revtrack.* *
Please review the explanation carefully and direct any questions that you may have regarding the fees and the costs of band to Mr. Bird at Jason.bird@birdvilleschools.net.
There is financial assistance available for some of the fees. This assistance may be available upon request.
Again, we hope that you are as excited as we are about the upcoming year. We are thankful to be a part of such a wonderful group of parents, students, alumni, and staff.
